What is a Treeripper?

A treeripper is something that "rips trees", of course!

Actually, we're not damaging any ecosystems here. If anything, the treeripper saves trees by reducing the amount of paper you have to send in the mail!

The trees referred to are genealogy reports, which it "rips" from your website for your distributors to import into MLMPro*.

Getting your Genealogies on the Web

On a daily, weekly, or monthly basis (whatever time frame suits your needs), you use whatever corporate software you have installed to export your entire corporate tree, and place it in a secure location on your web server.

Since you don't want anyone to have access to the entire corporate downline, you need to have an efficient way to get just one person's genealogy out of the master tree. This is where the treeripper comes into play.

How it works…

The treeripper is just a small fast UNIX executable that, when passed a distributor number and a few other parameters, will go into the master tree, find the requested distributor number, and "rip" that part of the tree out. It can then write the information to a file, or send as the STDOUT to any other UNIX program.

The result will be a file which the user can then download. The user can then import the file into MLMPro* to view it as a graphical display. Note that a distributor can only download his own tree, and, if you use our security layer, will require a password to do so.
