Overview: How does MLMPro* Import Genealogies?Basically, your company provides a file to each of its distributors, containing that distributor's downline. MLMPro* then imports this information as a graphical tree: something the human eye can understand (as opposed to just a long list of names). What kind of file can be imported?MLMPro* is able to import a fixed length ASCII file assuming that the file meets the following four criteria:
In order to do this, you may need to contact the author of your corporate tracking software, and have him make a special export format to meet these requirements, but this isn't that big of a job. Once you have established a file format, we will create an import filter for you. This is the "translator" that tells MLMPro* how to read your particular file. This way, MLMPro* knows which field is where in the file, and what to do with it. We can include your import filter with MLMPro* if you wish. Otherwise, you can supply it from your website. Distributing GenealogiesYou will, of course, have to supply updated genealogy files to your distributors on a regular basis. One method is to send them a diskette every week (or every two weeks, every month, etc.) with the new file on it. However, because each distributor needs a different file to represent his unique downline, this can be cumbersome. You have to ensure that the right diskettes go to the appropriate distributors.Online GenealogiesA more efficient and reliable method of getting the proper files to your distributors is to provide the genealogy reports online. The beauty of this method is that you only have to update your master genealogy file.We have created a special utility, called "The Treeripper", which will "rip" a personal genealogy report out of your master file for any distributor who logs in to your site. Setting up a site with the treeripper can be done in either of two ways, depending on your security concerns. We can host a site for you, in which case we set everything up, including our own top notch security layer. If you would prefer installing the treeripper on your own site, with your own security layer, you are welcome to do so, but you will have to set it up yourself. Technical support is extra.
